If you are a Christian, you must realize that by supporting war, you are guaranteeing yourself a place in hell. Jesus made it clear that fighting...even against those that persecute or attack you...is wrong. The one thing that Jesus said more than anything else is "do not be afraid". The second most thing that He said was "love your neighbor unconditionally". And no, that doesn't mean just the person who lives in the house next to yours...it means everyone! Killing someone is not loving them.

When the Zealots approached Jesus expecting to lead them in a war against Rome, Jesus reproached them. The closest thing to violence that Jesus ever did, was knocking over the tables of people that were trying to make people pay to worship.

Jesus repeatedly said "turn the other cheek", and "do not judge others". If you are truly a Christian, listen to what Jesus says. If you are truly a Christian, you must not support anyone that promotes fear, hatred, or war. You must not support those that try to take away from the poor (when asked what must be done to attain salvation, Jesus said "you must first sell everything that you own and give it all to the poor"). If you do, you will be judged and found lacking.

The tenets of Christianity are simple. Love God (which includes respecting that which He created), Love your neighbor (meaning every person), and do not fear. Simple. Yet many conservative Christians refuse to follow any of the three tenets. Conservatives work to destroy the environment to increase short-term profits. Conservatives believe that killing people is good, as long as your country is rich and has big technology, and is the United States or Israel. Conservatives try to take opportunity and the basic ability of the poor to live away. Conservatives spread fear and terror wherever they go. CONSERVATIVES ARE NOT CHRISTIANS. Christians do none of these things, because these things are expressly forbidden.

Not all conservatives are as cruel and crude as the people the who profess to be conservative Christians. The pretenders prostitute the name of Jesus Christ to gain power and follow their gluttonous agenda. If Jesus Christ came back they would be the first ones to nail him back on the cross, because he wouldn't follow there foolhardy modus operandi. When I think of Jesus the first word that comes to my mind is peace. He was and always will be a man of peace. They just don’t get it because they are so filled with revulsion and prejudice for their fellow man.

You don't know a thing about what conservatives believe! Yeah, the media does make many of us out to be greedy overzealous murderers who care for nothing but ourselves!

Very few of us wanted a war, but when it was brought to our doorstep by the terrorists, who killed more people from more different nationalities in one day - we had to respond. To do otherwise would have invited more attacks - thereby supporting those who DO want to promote fear hatred and war upon us.

That same reason is why we went into Iraq. After the first gulf war, the UN imposed some tough orders on Saddam to account for ALL of the weapons he ever had - to cease his programs, and to dismantle everything. While we have not found large stocks of these weapons (which by the way the very existence, or hinted existence of also promotes fear, terror, and war), he never accounted for how they were destroyed (if the case) and we have found evidence of continuing programs to develop more. Turning a blind eye to Saddam certainly would have invited hostilities on his part in the future. And the "peaceful" sanctions that were placed upon him did more harm to the Iraqi people than any of our bombs!

As for the tenants of Christianity. We do love god and respect our neighbors. Look at our history, we were likewise attacked by Japan prior to our entry into WWII. At the time there was great hatred between Japan and the U.S. At the end of the war, we were among the first to send aid to Japan to help in rebuilding their country, and now we count Japan as one of our biggest Allies. Once the Arab terrorist world lays down their arms of terror, we certainly will lay down our own, and both may prosper in peace.

Conservatives work to destroy the environment? While I'll admit the current government isn't the best steward, it was conservatives (particularly Teddy Roosevelt and Richard Nixon) who are responsible for many of the environmental laws even coming into existence. So yes, you can THANK a conservative for the national parks, the EPA, and the original Clean Air and Clean Water acts!

And lastly trying to take away the opportunity and basic ability of the poor to live? NO. I as a conservative believe that everyone's destiny is their own! I have worked hard and EARNED everything I have. I do not like the idea of big brother taking my limited resources away and redistributing it to those who have no excuse for not doing the same. True there are a lot of low paying dirty jobs out there, but if that's what it takes, you must work hard to raise the quality of your own life, not expect it to be handed to you. Once you start at the bottom, there's noplace to go but up if you work for it! Like Jesus said - "give a man a fish, and he can feast for a day, but teach a man to fish, and he will be able to provide for himself and his family forever!" Charity is a good thing, and conservatives are be very generous, but we will not willingly allow a sub-section of our society to become dependent upon our good will!

I am a Christian, I am a conservative and I support the war in Iraq and I support Israel in its effort to protect itself from Hezbollah extremists. Some people aren't happy until they kill every last living race, creed, religion, etc. I personally would love to sit and make nice with the terrorists---but we cannot make nice with the terrorists because they learn how to take off in an airplane but forget to learn how to land----they learn how to strap bombs onto their bodies and onto the bodies of their children----and then they walk into a crowded bus or grocery or restaurant---they set off the detonator. We are not the ones who are out looking for a fight. We are out there trying to bring peace into an area where there has been no peace for thousands of years.

I agree with the fellow who said that if you want to spout a diatribe---you should start a blog----this is not the time or place for that diatribe. This is a place where questions should be asked and answered.

Do I think Christ would want us to play nice? You bet! Do you think Christ would want us to turn our back on His chosen people---NO HE WOULD NOT!

Get a grip---get a life----get a blog----and more important than that---get a QUESTION!!!

That is some of the most convoluted thinking I've ever been witness to.

We're talking about the same Jesus who used a whip on moneychangers in the temple after turning their tables over, right?

Yes, we are supposed to love our neighbor, try to turn our cheek but at some point we are allowed "righteous anger" as our savior demonstrated and we are allowed to protect our families as Peter's church waged "just" wars many times against it's enemies.

Conservatives have NOT "destroyed" the environment, they just don't believe in chaining themselves to trees or trying to protect endangered "snails" or believing in Al Gore's convenient lies.
How can you rationalize conservative "killing" is any worse than sucking fetuses out of women as a form of birth control?

You're wanting to take the Bible "out of context" and pick and choose scripture to "point fingers" at conservatives when the whole Democratic platform supports REMOVING God AND God's word from every aspect of US society.

You're a bigger hypocrite than MOST Democrats- congratulations on another LOW for your party!

You accept Jesus with your heart and soul as your personal savior and you are saved. All the stuff you put up there has nothing to do with being a Christian. You can be a sinner and still be saved, it is just the Christians try to deny the sin in their lives and live a more Christ like life. So the fact that I believe in Jesus and am in the military does not send my soul to hell, but thank you for thinking of me.

God Bless

i'm a conservative christian and that i'm not against people having health care. i'm against the authorities taking on the health care of 80 5% of the people who're happy with the care they have. might want to it not be wiser to provide vouchers to those who fairly won't be able to have the funds for the coverage only so they ought to purchase health coverage? Why shrink to rubble an entire equipment even as an user-friendly answer of masking those who want it and telling the coverage organizations they could't carry preexisting situations against someone. Now as for you asserting that I promote greed and conflict. Conservative Christians far out supply to charity liberal democrats. at present I spent one hundred and fifty.00 on nutrition to provide a relations in want. i am going to do this because each and every week after I get my verify, I positioned something aside for my church and something aside for helping someone in want. So how is that merchandising greed and conflict?

on a recent Sean Hannity show during the man on the street segment Sean interviewed people over the phone about politics and voting . it was fairly amusing and scary at the same time.

a 17 yr old girl who said she will be 18 and vote in the next presidential election said she would vote for H Clinton if she was running. when questioned why the girl replied i like her because she is a woman. when asked what if C Rice was running the girl didn't know who Rice was.

further questions reveled the future Democrat did not know the following...

1. the vice presidents name
2. The speaker of the House name
3. Who Tony Blair is
4. could not name a single sitting judge on the Supreme Court.

She did know the following

1. the names of the 3 stooges
2. the names of the characters on The Simpson's

This is frightening!

My, that is a thoughtful question. However, it really is not a question
at all, but rather a statement or proclamation that you have already concluded. A lot of conservatives are most surely Christians, but why bother trying to point that out to you. You have already made up your mind.
