I think her dad was good. She is famous for him now, but what got her started was when Paris and Nikki Hilton got a job offer for the Simple Life, Nikki turned it down and Paris wanted Nicole Richie to do the show with her. So the show made her famous.

I feel really old when you say that. ;) Lionel Richie was huge in the 70's with the Commodores and moreso as a solo artist in the 80's.
As for Nicole, well, I really don't know what her talents are. She's famous for doing The Simple Life and not much else I can think of really. Then again, I don't understand why Paris Hilton gets so much attention either other than for that video she did. ;)

She has never done a damn thing except make her way onto television because she does have a famous and very talented father. Its just another wonderful example of how screwed up our society is becoming. If someone like Nicole and her buddy Paris can actually make money for doing nothing and having no talent, what does that say to the teachers, firemen, nurses, of this country?

yes her dad was a famous singer. he was a part of the commadores before he went on his own. (remember "brick house", or "lady's night", or "just to be close to you". the list is too long!) she's famous for being lionel richie's daughter and nothing more! famous for having a famous father. she's a another child of a celebrity who grew up in the spotlight and actually thinks the lights are on her because she's so cute! she's has no clue!! she's not the only child of famous parents who's confused about why people care to know about them. (i could care less!)

Lionel Richie had hits in the late 70s and 80s. His duet with Diana Ross (Endless Love) was I think one of the biggest hits in 1981.
Nicole was the daughter of member of Lionel's band that he and his wife ended up adopting, and you really know the rest of the story.
Since Nicole was adopted, I can't call her a member of the 'Lucky Sperm Club' people who are simply famous because they are of children of celebrities.

He was really good for a little while to some people. I never liked his music. I think she was put on because she was paris's friend.
