My ex husband moved to Texas. I have custody of my kids.He insists that I have to take my kids to his mothers home which lives 2 hours away from me and that from there they will travel to Texas. Does he have the right to request this? shouldnt he have to pick them up from my home or have arrangements for someone to pick them up from my home? My children are 9 years old and ll years old.

unless it specifies in your divorce decree that you are responsible for providing transportation i don't believe you are. it will be up to him to make all the arrangements

Visitation rules are probably set by Friend of the Court. I imagine the court isn't going you to drive 2 hours each way.

He's asking that you travel 2 hours and he'll take care of the rest. You and him can either work together on this or make things harder than they have to be.

The easiest way to answer that is to refer you to your laywer or a childrens advocate for advice........... it may be less expensive for you though just to drive the two hours to drop them off.

Check with your lawyer on this one just to be sure, but I'm guessing it's his responsibility unless you're willing to meet him halfway.

Technically he has to pick them up. Talk with your attorney. Good luck.
