Yes you have to have a modem to connect to the internet.

Depending on what type of internet you are using:
For dialup, you need a dialup modem.
For DSL, you need a DSL modem.

Yes you do cause you have to connect your computer to the internet service provider which gives you the internet service.

Dailup = Modem Connected to phone line
Cable = Modem Connected to the Cable wire which supplies tv
DSL = Connected to phone line but does not take the phone signal away so you can still call people

somekind of modem yes... you'll need a wireless mode, a cell phone, an ordinary modem, but you can't connet directly to the internet without a modem.. 'cause sended data needs to be translated into computer language..

truelly speaking,not really!as u may have internet by cable ,LAN ie local area network of computers etc!in which u combine some computers via cables and hub/s and provide internet to only a single pc and get internet on all pcs!
