The word “interview” itself makes a person tense who needs to appear in the interview. It is normal human behaviour to become confused or get tensed but such things can be overcome with practice, learning from seniors and elders, thru own experience. At my time internet was not available. These days Internet is a rich source of information. U can learn many things about the interview by visiting the websites the links of which are given below. On some websites u will find questions also along with answers which are frequently asked and questions pertaining to ur requirement can also be found there. It will improve ur performance remarkably. If will infuse a high level of confidence in u. It will make u more frank and it will develop diplomatic qualities in u too. Overall, I would say that it will give an impetus to ur personality development.

You should have told them that you had an appointment for that day and would arrive late.
Since you did not do that, you will need to let them know that something unexpected came up and you will be late but will get there as soon as possible. If they ask tell them your washer broke down over the weekend and you had to wait for a repairman to come out. If you can call them before Monday it would be best, at least they would know a little ahead of time.
Things like that happen to people, most work places would be understanding about it .... unless you are in the habit of being late or out a lot.
Good luck with the interview!

I don't know what type of work you do or your lifestyle so I can't give you a specific answer. All I know is the method of white lies. Try not to be too specific and detailed in your excuse. Also, the boss will ask you trick questions such as: he or she will ask you which freeway you took to the doctor's office, he would then follow with a questions like, " I heard on the radio that a car had crash there, you must be backed up for hours?" Don't fall for that and agree, that's a killer. Say, no...I didn't notice an accident. The traffic was find when I went.
The question will be different but you get the idea. In short, keep your excuse short and brief, don't be too descriptive. Watch out for trick questions.

Call in sick and take the day off. Tell them you ate something nasty and have been vomiting a lot. Had you planned a little better you could have told them you had a dentist appointment, but at such short notice they are going to ask why you didn't think to give them more notice.

I would have informed your employer in advance that you have an appointment that will require you to miss work on Monday. They don't need to have the reason. Treat it like any day that you need to request off.

Woke up late, forgot about your dentist appointment, kid was sick, don't feel well, PMS, cold, flu, migrane, or any other combination of "get out of work free" cards.
