Ok, take a deep breath in, and exhale.

Don't worry if your not showing, some women never show and others grow like a house.

It is possible that your baby is still small yet, you probably have felt it, but you havn't figured it out yet.
Or your baby is most active when you are sleeping.

your doctor will probably do a sonogram anyways just to monitor the babys heart beat
You will probably have an ultrasound appointment very soon as well, they want to make sure the baby is growing and everything is working the way it should.

Yes there is a differance between the 2,
Sonagram uses sonar to listen, ultrasound uses ultra high sound waves to create a picture.

No two pregnancies are the same, nor are any two babies the same.

If this is your first child it could be hard to distinguish when the baby actually moves. My baby was moving and I didnt even realize that was the baby until later when the movements were stronger. I would mention it to your doctor. They should be monitoring the heartbeat by now. If you hear heartbeats during your visits then you should have nothing to worry about. There are articles out there that state some women do not realize their babies movements until later in the pregnancy. I didnt realize the movements until I was almost 6 months pregnant and they were faint movements. Felt just like a butterfly wing flapping against my stomach inside. I didnt feel good movement until 7 mths.

Definitely talk to your doctor.

If this is your first baby though, don't be too worried until you have seen your doctor. For what it's worth, I was young and very thin with my first pregnancy (wish to god I could say that now, but hey, life happens :) I didn't feel my first baby kicking until I was later in the pregnancy than you (I felt the later ones mostly only because I realised what it was that I was feeling - the early kicks are very subtle little butterfly feelings). I didn't show until 24-25 weeks either, and at 21 weeks was still wearing pre-pregnancy jeans and they were only barely starting to feel a little constricting (certainly not tight yet, just, not quite as loose as they used to be).

Your doctor should ask if you've felt the baby move, and if they don't then tell them. And it's not uncommon not to feel it with your first baby until you're a bit farther along. Some babies just aren't very active. It could be that your baby sleeps most of the day and decides to do it's gymnastics at 4 in the morning when you're sound asleep. Don't panic. If your ob/gyn isn't concerned and you can still hear it's heartbeat, you'll feel it move eventually. Like when you're 8 months pregnant and shopping in the mall and baby decides to play soccer with your bladder. You'll DEFINITELY feel that. =)

You could tell your doctor, but its not uncommon or a real concern that you're not feeling anything yet.

I mean if you were feeling movement but now you're not at all, then it would be a cause for concern.

But most women, esepcially first time moms just dont reconize the first 'quickening' movements of the baby until theyre farther along than 20 weeks.

It really depends have you ever felt the baby move? Your due date could be wrong. Dont stress too much. Call your doctor and ask him if he is worried then hell get you in asap if hes not he tell you to wait til your next apt and then discuss it with him if your still experiencing the problem. Just remember during pregnancy when in doubt about anything always call the doctor its better to call and be safe.

Yes if you are worried, talk to your doctor, stressing and worrying is not good for the baby. But I don't think you have anything to worry about. When they begin to move the feeling is so slight that you may not notice it.It feels like a quiver,or butterflies in your stomach.Anyway you should try to get a fetal monitor(they're not expensive) just so you can listen to your unborn baby as often as you like.It will help to ease some of the worry.Your baby should move everyday,if it doesn't GO TO THE DOCTOR'S ASAP!!!!!Better safe than sorry.Congratulations!!!!!!!

It wouldn't hurt to mention it, but not feeling movement at 20-21 weeks into a first pregnancy isn't uncommon. Of course, you might have felt it and just not known it. At first, the baby moving doesn't feel like kicks; to be honest, it feels more like gas.

I have had 2 babies and there were times when I could feel them and times where I went a few weeks not feeling a thing. Always share that info with your doctor though.
