Leaving a car running unattended is illegal in Texas and is an invite for crime. All the thief needs is a rock, broken window drive off. I think the van lost an electronic ignition. While some times the car will restart after the engine cools down. Get the trouble codes looked at even if the engine service soon light is not on the technician can see live data "fuel trim" and if the vans fuel system is the fault he will know to start there.

I believe that since your car is still fairly new, the problem is simple to repair. It is likely your fuel filter. Gas is "dirtier today" than ever and your fuel filter is the likely candidate to keep your engine clean. Fuel filters on vans are underneath the left side of the van. They have a rubber hose that connects on each side...(typically).

You can buy a FRAM fuel filter at a Wal-Mart for pretty cheap and have it installed at a quick lube place.

HOW MANY MILES IS ON THE VAN ,IT COULD BE THE FUEL PUMP, DOES IT STILL TURN OVER BUT JUST WONT START? IF IT ISN'T THE FUEL PUMP THEN IT COULD JUST BE A FUSE OR YOUR ALTERNATOR ISN'T PUTTING OUT THE PROPER VOLTAGE
