That was my nickname amongst all my husband's friends...well that and "susie homemaker". I was raised old fashioned, 9 times out of 10 you'll find me in a dress vacuuming the living room. Dinner is on the table everyday at 5:30 and laundry is always folded and put away.
It's okay to do that, but there's also the reality side of it. I do it because It's the way I was raised and I feel comfortable doing it. There is a flip side if you don't find a balance. After awhile it drives you nuts, if it's not appreciated, you begin to feel like an overly-dressed maid and you have to have something else in life...there is only so much you can do to pretty things up and cleaning a house only takes a few hours...boredom will set in.
You aren't living in the wrong time, your mind just stays in a different era....there's nothing wrong with it if you keep it on an even keel. If you decide to order separate beds, then you might have taken it too far.

Hon, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.
Me, I'm a stay at home mom as well, though my reasons are different. I have an Autistic child at home.
The worlds children would be far better off if there were more "June Cleavers" in the world. Look at the way kids act today, rude, obnoxious, and most aren't even disiplined right if at all. And mostly because the children are raised in daycare, not by family.
I say skip the guilt trip and keep doing what you're doing. If you didn't enjoy it, that would be different, but you are. And heck, if hubby enjoys the way you look, even better...a happy hubby usually means a nice happy marriage. Just enjoy.

First I want to ask you "What is wrong with being you?"
To want a life style that is equivalent to that of a "June Cleaver" personality is not wrong but to actually feel as though you are somewhat inferior because of the things that you feel are missing in your existence is completely "WRONG". What you should do is try to incorporate the positive traits that you already possess along with the qualities that you seem to admire in the TV character of "June Cleaver" and see how that helps you with your deliema.

I don't think its wrong if that is who you are.I am also a stay home mom i love cooking and being with my family I feel like I have the greatest job ever.I love looking pretty for my hubby and doing things to take care of him because i pretty much get whatever i want in return and i don't have to ask for anything. So u should do what makes you happy and don't let others make you feel like something is wrong with u just because most people feel differently these days.

there is not a thing wrong with being a housewife if you and your husband agree that is a decision you made together, and if it works well good luck to you. as far as old fashion there are more of us than most realize. the looking nice is just fine it shows you take pride in yourself and you look nice for your husband. I know this to be so.

Just make sure he is the kind of guy who will hold up his end of the bargain and do his absolute all for you...

I wish I could do that - and not work at a shitty job I hate.
June Cleaver is a good role model - at least she's not a drug using, child abusing loser.
