The term "Big Brother" refers to a government or other authority that keeps citizens under constant surveillance, without a single moment of privacy. The term comes from the classic novel "1984" by George Orwell. The premise of the novel is that every citizen has an interactive TV monitor in their home which enables the government to watch them 24-7. For example, everyone has to exercise in front of the monitor each morning and any slackers are singled out by name. There are also monitors in the workplace, on the street, and in other public places. The personification of the government is a stern male face called "Big Brother" that appears on the monitor. The tag line "Big Brother is Watching You" is used throughout the novel to symbolize the constant surveillance.

Big Brother was from a book by Alvin Toffler called 1984, I believe. About a government that watches everybody's every move.
People tell me I trip too much. But I think they are the ones
losing it over paranoia of a Global Government. If it is to
happen, it will be forced on us if we like it or not. Better to come together in cooperation, to ease the pain when the time comes.
Did you know the Bible says the anti-christ will be revealed, and the people of the world will put him to death.
How much he will get away with, will depend on us. We have
been warned.

From George Orwell's 1984, BIG BROTHER is the Government, which watches your every move (for the good of the people, you know, but it stands for the loss of rights and privacy in the name of law and order. After all, if you are innocent, why worry about BIG BROTHER watching you.)

Are you talking about the TV show or something else? What Q? BB has been a hit for the six years on CBS, which got it's origin from its UK and Swedish counterparts. You take twelve people and put them in a house to close themselves from the outside world. You compete for food/luxury, for head of household, to veto yourself or someone's eviction nominee, and one person is evicted every week. It's all for a nice prize amount of $1 million. Just be careful when you form alliances.
