I had just moved into my new place two weeks before. My children and I were trying to adjust to our new surroundings. My phone was just turned on that morning September 11th and I came into the living room to watch the news as I usually do so I can keep up to date with what's going on in the world. I hollered upstairs to my children are you guys watching this movie it looks so real. And I found out a few minutes later is was not a movie and I called my mom and asked her if she was watching Good morning America and she said yes and said she couldn't talk right now because she was too chocked up. I cried as I watched the second plane hit the twin towers. I felt like I was in a bad dream. My next door neighbor was moving in and had no idea what was happening. She turned on the TV and could not believe what she was seeing. That's a day I'll never forget.

I was still in high school at the time. I was in 2nd period art class and they said over the announcement system that there were reports of one of the towers being hit by a plane but they didnt know anything for sure yet. At the time I thought it was just a rumor (those were rampant in my school, over everything). I went all day in denial (even when the reports were confirmed) aobut the seriousness of the whole thing. Everyone thought they would send us home from school but they didnt. My mom was home early when I got home and she was freaking out. She was saying no one was safe, any of us could die anytime, small towns like ours are next. I remember rolling my eyes at her (she always was a drama queen). It was the national news and Dan Rather that made me realize it was really a big deal, when they didnt have any regular TV shows on for days, I realized, wow this is scary, this really happened and the world is changed now.

I dropped the kids off at school and heard the first report on the radio. No one seemed to know quite what had happened. I got home and turned on the tv and they were showing the tower, smoking, but still not sure what had happened. I called my boyfriend in Oregon, woke him up and told him to turn on his tv. We watched the second plane hit the second tower, so sad. Eventually we watched both buildings collapse and just sat stunned that this had happened. Cried a lot of tears and hugged the children even harder when I picked them up that afternoon.

I remember the whole day but there's no point in telling you what happened before the first plane crashed.
I was at home,it was about 5 or 6 PM here don't remember exactly.
It was me,mom, dad, dad's step brother, the cat and the dog. I was planning to go outside in the backyard to play with the dog and the cat when suddenly I saw their faces like the earth had crashed on us.I couldn't see what was on tv because I had headphones on my ears and didn't watch it...Then the dog ran near my mom who was almost crying and said something about a possible World War 3.
My uncle wanted to go to his house,to check on his kids because they were home alone and he was afraid that they see that on TV and get really scared. Then my cat ran out the door when he got out,and it was really scared and it was the first time when it got out the yard and got hit by a car *cries*.
Then I spent my whole afternoon crying for my cat and being scared of what happened...after 2 days my mom finally convinced me that we are safe and that my cat was going to be ok(even tho it wasn't after all *more cries*) and after 2 days I ate for the first time in 2 days,a cheesburger from Mac....
That day my grandma also broke her leg....It was an awful day...

I was at school, and all the faculty began to freak out, but they would never tell us what was happening. I remember one specific teacher burst into tears, we later found out his sister worked in the same wing in the Pentagon that was hit. Turns out, she had a dream that something bad was gonna happen that night so she decided to take work off that day and stay home with her kids.

I was in Ohio, one-and-a-half-years after I moved from NJ, and ready to go back to classes for my fall semester-the first one was summer. I was with my friend Katie, when we went to TGIF for dessert, (no supper) and heard about it on the news. Even classes were cancelled in the area, due to the terror alert. I'm still stunned about it.
