2001 chevy malibu will turn over but wont start,what could it be?

it is not the fuel pump.

is the security light flashing. if so it is not reading the key. most likely bad lock cylinder housing. if it is flashing turn key til starter engages then let it sit with key still on for about 10 mins. when light goes out try starting it again. i have seen this a lot lately on a few malibu's.

well did you do a fuel pressure check ??? could it be the fuel filter ??? is it getting spark ???

It could be the starter OR the alternater
