Most of today's music and movies are either for teens or... hmm... people with low needs. Why is it that although the commercially important population is 18-49 years old, all the big hits are for people below this age? Teens only have pocket money... Do only they buy movies and CDs?

I think that the answer to this is because...
Teens usually have jobs and money, but no real obligations. Most don't pay rent, or groceries, or insurance, anything like that, and if they do it's usually very minimul costs. They also have more free time than adults, and less supervision than children. Teens like to follow trends, and do what their friends are doing. On top of all of that, they are very easily influenced.

They are the easiest to influence and the biggest followers of anything, the most gullible and naive to the fact that its mostly fantasy. Teens, or the young minded buy into a fantasy and try to emulate it in their own life.
Such as teens trying to be, talk, act and dress like charaters they see in movies and tv. They spend their little job money on these unimportant things, or have their parents buy them.
I don't know any adults who buy cds anymore, I sure don't. And adults have a clue that they need to put their money into the things that actually matter in their lives. It's also why you have 25-38 yr old stars playing teen roles when they can get away with it. Take 90210, those people were well into their 20's even 30's playing high schoolers on that show. I could go on and on.

No, I think you're just a little bit wrong. Today's big movies seemed to be geared towards people in their 20's. Think of all this summer's big hits and most of them are popular with people over 18. But teenagers are better at "keeping up with the times" than older people. And teenagers are more of trendsetters also...so targeting the younger people will be more effective at making something popular. And the more popular it is...the more money it will bring in...of course! ; )

i in my view like her, and that i'm 30. And my mom likes her as properly! I purely like the showmanship she has delivered returned to pop music. it relatively is like Queen or Michael Jackson. Flashy!! EDIT i do no longer comprehend why human beings criticize her so harshly. ok, so she won't be your cup of tea, yet she writes all her own music, she performs the piano, she designs her costumes. you will desire to admit, she's very in touch in the inventive technique. extra advantageous than you are able to say for a sort of stars.
