Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

i've tried uninstalling, reinstalling the driver.... nothing is working i've also checked to see if anything is unplugged and nothing is.

also, i forgot to mention when i try reinstalling again it says "a problem has occured during new hardware installation" blah blah blah, i have also tried installing another CD-ROM and it does the same thing.

Have your check the IDE cable connecting to your CD Drive and the motherboard? Perhaps there some problems/damages with it. Try changing one and see.

It might have a problem seeing the driver. Is there an exclamation point next to your driver in device manager? Try the following link

CD ROM drives do not require drivers, they are controlled by the IDE\SATA\SCSI controller of your computer.....

go to your bios screen on bootup you know when it boots up and ask to push f8 or something like that and make sure your cd rom is on.
