due 2 high heat capacity of Al the rise in the temp of the foil is less hence the temp difference between the Al foil & the surroundings is less hence less heat loss due 2 which the food is hot for a longer period

Hot things cool, in part, my emitting Infrared radiation. Aluminum has a low IR emissivity. That means it emits less IR when hot than most things. It also means if there is an air gap between the foil and food (say) it reflects the IR from the food back to it. both mechanism help contain heat. If there's a good seal, it also traps air inside the container to minimized convective and evaporative cooling (two other mechanisms)

Aluminum foil works by keeping the heat (or cold) from radiating out from the food and reflecting it back into whatever it's wrapped on or around.

Aluminum may be a good conductor of heat, but its a terrible emitter or absorber of thermal radiation. When you wrap food in aluminum foil, you dramatically reduce that food's ability to lose heat via radiation if it's hotter than its surroundings or its ability to gain heat via radiation if it's colder than its surroundings. Aluminum foil doesn't have much effect on heat transferred to or from the food via conduction or convection because aluminum itself is a good conductor of heat.

Aluminium foil is metal and metal is a good conductor of heat.

Aluminum reflects the microwaves from the hot stuff and keeps microwaves from the environment away from the cold stuff.

Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat. For that reason, it actually causes items to reach ambient temperature FASTER than it would otherwise. Not only will it NOT keep hot things hot, it will cool them more quickly.
