I'm homeless and I have a laptop. Join the 21st century. Homeless people aren't poor anymore. Most people that I know (that are homeless) are homeless by choice, like I am. I think it's too constricting to live in a house. There's so much more to do outside. Yeah it's tough sometimes, but who doesn't want a challenge. I guess anymore it's not by choice but just because I like it.

People are really thoughtless, they just sit in their own little worlds and don't realize how bad it can get.

I feel for you, and I hope you find a job and a home.

I've used the computer at the library before, too. I think it's a wonderful thing that they have open access to the internet that way. Where I work, I use a computer, but they won't let us access the internet because they say we will waste time (and they're right, we would). So, if I really need to use the internet for something while I'm at work, I walk over to the library during my break or lunchtime.

So... I knew that lots of people use the internet there, and I've often thought that some of them might be homeless.... or at the very least... computerless. Lots of people (including my own daughter who lives kinda far away from me) have a home, but not a computer. It's still a luxury. I guess that's why people think you must have a home if you are on the internet.

Thanks for educating people.

There are no jokes to be made about being homeless, and your comment is ridiculous, why are you on the computer and not job seeking, how can you use yahoo answers with out an account, even with a lap top you have to pay for an account, and any one that isn't independently wealthy does not choose to be homeless. You are still using the tax payer paid for facilities such as the library and its computers.I feel that any thing ,any kind of job is acceptable if it keeps you not living on the streets.Any man or woman on the streets is capable of some kind of work. Its nothing to be proud of to be homeless, you in some way contributed to your living conditions,so you are to blame not society. Children and teenagers are excluded in my statement for they are more likely to be victims of their parents lack of judgment or bad treatment.Any parent that throws a kid out on the streets should be jailed no matter what the reason, you gave birth
to them take care of them till they are 18 the way the laws says to.You should be looking for a job on the computer not trying to make fun of people.
Get a job go to work,get a
place to live. Its not that difficult.

I used to be homeless once, when I was a teenager, and many friends let me use their computers, as well as the library.

Not all homeless people are bums with shopping carts full of cans.

Not all bums are homeless.

You are so right, a lot of people who are homeless, go to the library and get on the computers like you said, not all of them sit on a curb somewhere collecting money.
Thanks for setting us straight

In order to use a computer at a library you have to have a library card and in order to get one you have to have identification and that means an address. Most cards are good for two years so I am guessing that your became homeless in the past two years.
