I know exactly what you mean. I asked a very similar question a while ago... it does worry me somewhat that so many people seem unable to use independent thought. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope there are enough people who can actually see the truth behind all the lies etc... sometimes it is difficult to keep believing this. I think people like yourself have a responsibility to show people the truth... yes generally people are easily lead.

There are some human beings in the information business company i will have confidence, others that I won't. it relatively is complicated now, as a results of fact the components of political information are many times the White residing house or Pentagon and we only given what we "would desire to renowned," which isn't lots and is no longer authentic. as a results of fact the Media is rather lots our only source of counsel, in case you decrease value rightwing propaganda, leftwing propaganda, good and leftwing Blogs, etc., we are based upon it for many of our awareness. there became right into a time whilst it became into self sufficient of company pastimes, yet that component has handed. All information Media is thoroughly shackled with the aid of merchandising. in the event that they displease their advertisers, they are toast. they are additionally in the grip of extensive company proprietors, and the best subject shall we do is wreck up the conglomerates and bypass returned to the rule of thumb of proscribing the possession of information components. This administration has delivered yet another shadow into the truthfulness of the information and that's concern. Threats of criminal expenditures and examples of retaliation have made journalists hesitant to dive into arguable matters. notwithstanding, some issues can't be distorted. If the Iraqi dying toll rises and rises and rises, you are able to surmise that issues have not been dealt with too properly. If the money is spent and the subject concerns proceed to be, it is extra data that something is misguided. in case you employ your head and powers of deduction, you are able to glean some counsel from the information, even notwithstanding if it is sorely lacking in certainty.

Some people think that because it is in the Newspaper or on the News it must be true, regardless of how ridiculous the news items may be - there's no helping them and they just have to learn by experience not to be so gullible.

You've got a point. When Bush/Blair (the two lovers) said there was nuclear weapons in Iraq, even though the UN inspectors couldn't find any, you should have heard people. They were scared for their lives that Iraq was going to drop a nuclear bomb on them!! Pathetic really.

I must admit, particularly in recent years, I have found myself surprised to be asking the same question.
Yet, nobody I know or meet in person ever seems to actually have such ignorant views that seem to be represented in the media and on here.

It atonishes me sometimes the amount of rubbish that people take in and believe. I think that people don't ask for enough proof to back up what they are being told. There just isn't enough cynicism, even in todays society.

the youth of today (30 and under) have been bombrded by dumbed down tv, radio, and newspapers. also, we are not encouraged to think for ourselves. lets jump on the bandwagon and idot-proof the entire world. that way nobody has the power of thought or imagination.

Because it's easier than them having to think for themselves and a lot of people don't like facing the truth

Don't you mean that they believe everything that they WANT to hear?
If people believed everything that they hear, they would be very confused.
In fact with all the dialectically opposed views floating about, I think their brains would be in meltdown.
Explains a lot.
