NOT AT ALL. The recent ruling by the federal judge that wiretapping foriegn calls is a good example. The ACLU lawyers that filed suit were the same lawyers that are defending terrorists. The ACLU is a terrorist organisation period.

Actually, you can't do either.
Either one gets you (the student) into the same amount of trouble for the same reason. It's disruptive of class. And while you have the right to free speech, that right can be limited to appropriate places/times, as long as you can say what you want somewhere else.
That's the thing about free speech and freedom of religion. The government cannot make distinctions based on what you say, whether its prayer, insults, or poetry. The rules have to be neutral. Everything is treated the same, regardless of content. Which also means religion doesn't get any special treatment.
Now, if you're taking about prayer in school organized by the school, that's a different issue. That's state-sponsorship of religion, which is prohibited by the Constitution. The govt "shall make no laws respecting the establishment of religion". So, here religion is treated differently, if it is the STATE trying to get people to pray.
Because, unlike the individual, the state is more restricted in what it can say and do. It's important to keep that distinction clear, between private speech (or prayer), and government-sponsored prayer. Very different sets of rules.

So who is paying you for this un American propaganda?
Big Business and the RNC love the ACLU they would not be paying for your comments.
Most likely a congressional group like the pro torture lobby. They know they have a uphill battle to get the torture laws overturned.
But hey once the Courts approve torture think of the business opportunity. Let's say America has 10 million cops and every one gets a electronic torture device for questioning suspects.
Ten million at say $300 bucks each with a 50% profit margin Now were talking $$$$$

You are simply incorrect in suggesting that the ACLU tries to stop students from praying. In fact, they have fought court cases to give student religious groups equal access to school facilities.
The one thing they're against is having the school force a particular religion on a child.
What I don't understand is why conservatives seem to want the government to tell people how to be religious. I think that ought to be a personal choice, not something forced on us by congress.

The ACLU believes only on speech that is along their beliefs....look at the valedictorian that had her microphone cut off at graduation because she was going to say that god and jesus were a big part of her life....the ACLU won't back her because they say it violated the seperation of church and state. What a bunch of BS.....their whole goal is to tear down the religion in this country that is all.

You CAN'T cuss out your teacher in the class room, not according to the rules. And you CAN pray to God out loud.
Your so-called question is misleading and biased.
What no one should be able to do is force us to have to pray in school (which during the 60s and 70s used to be the case in public schools). True religions is not forced upon us but seeked out by those who yearn for it.

No it hostile to college coverage to cuss out a instructor in maximum public faculties. This situation of prayer in public faculties has been an situation for years. faith does not belong in public faculties it can be taken to severe through precise wing bigots who desire in ordinary words to have human beings trust their way or no way. I help the ACLU of their efforts to guard our rights. They at time help unpopular motives yet really have someone protecting my rights then taking them away.

If you don't support the ACLU, they will come after you one way or another. It hates our freedom, and it hates the USA.
