man, 10 year olds know how to solve this, and you don't look like a 10 year old... sad, really sad. you know chicks dig smart guys?

here's a neat trick how to rember to solve proportions:
say out loud: 1637 is 100%
write: 1637 -> 100
say out loud: x is 19%
write x -> 19

now on your paper you have:
1637 -> 100
x -> 19

now multiply diagonally like this:
1637 * 19 = x * 100
so x = (1637 * 19) / 100

Show your working, eh? Sounds like somebody can't be bothered to do their own homework.

I can understand asking for the answer because your calculator and you want to work out how much something will cost in a "19% off sale", but with working shows the fact you are asking us to do your homework for you.

Do $1637 x 0.19 and you will get your answer.
