White paint is easy. Most metallics are difficult. The touch-up paint comes as an aerosol for large areas. A small container about the size of a lipstick is sold for small scratches, this has its own little brush inside the lid.

If you use the aerosol, practise on something else first, so you don't get paint runs but still use enough paint to cover the area.

Some metallics come with a second spray of clear lacquer to use after the paint has dried.

touch up paints usually come with there own little brush.

is very easy to paint it, but to get it looking good that's hard, first make sure the area is clean and dry and any loose flaky paint is off, first just paint the metal , but try not to get heavy brush strokes , or put to much on it at once.

leave it to dry, then put on another coat, using very light brush strokes.

if U do messy up, just leave it to dry then sand it back to a smooth surface with so wet and dry sandpaper

I found that the little brush that come with the touch up paint was too floppy and flimsy and was hard to control. I bought one of those cheap kiddies paintbrushes and it went on fine. Just follow the instructions on the touch up paint packet and it is easy enough to use.

if it truly is strictly for touchup...do not hardship procuring an airbrush. particularly now...via the time you purchase an airbrush...and an airsource...you're into something far more beneficial extreme priced than you had initially realised. flow to a body shop and function them do it. and that i might want to by no ability purchase an airbrush at wal mart.
