Why do you want to become a psychiatrist? Psychiatrist think they can solve the problems of the world by drugging everyone. That’s all they know how to do. I recommend you reading a book called "Warning: Psychiatry Can Be Hazardous to Your Mental Health." Please read it! You many find it in your local public library, if not, they may be able to order it from another branch, or you can order a cheap used copy from Amazon. The guy who wrote that book is a Psychiatrist himself. He has been for something like 40 years by now. if the first chapter does not convince you that there's something wrong with psychiatry, then you must be blind or brainwashed.

If you want to help people, become a psychologist instead. You help people by giving them real psychological treatment, instead of drug treatment. Drugs for treating psychological problems have become the norm instead of the exception.

Do yourself a favor and read at least the first chapter of that book. It’ll open your eyes! I don’t want to ruin it for you by telling you some of the extremely strong point that this man highlights in his book. You need to read it for yourself. If you find a copy and you read it, please send an e-mail and let me know what you think. Actually let me know whether you find it or not. Good luck!

psychiatry is a speciality, just like surgery, or medicine. after acquiring a basic degree in medicine, which involves a five year course, after intermediate college exam, passed with the percentage necessary to get admission. after you are a medical graduate, you can enroll for the post graduation in psychiatry.
wherever you are residing, try to get an admission in a govt . medical college, thereafter in an institute offering post graduation in metal health and neuro sciences.
