I put in a new dvd drive to run MYST Revelation and it seems to load and come up with what looks like a linking book and then suddenly goes black and back to my desktop. I supposedly have a little more than the minimum req. to run the game. I just want to upgrade whatever I need to and don't know where to start.

Hit the Start button>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information.
Wait for the System Information window to open, then on the left click the plus sign next to 'Components' then in the subcategories click 'Display'. The info should appear in the right window with the name at the top.

Right Click on the desktop of your PC and select Properties from the menu. The Display Properties window will come up. Select the Settings tab and in the button area click on the Advanced button. This will open the properties window for the Video Card (Adapter) in your PC. Click on the Adapter tab and you will see the entire details of your Video adapter - the Adapter type, Chip type, DAC type, Memory size, BIOS information, etc. At the buttom you will see LIST ALL MODES. You can click this button and select a lower mode to get your PC work fine. Afterward, you may revert to the original mode if need be.
