I would point to the radical Islamic "uprising" against the American provisional government in the Philippines in the early 20th Century. Oh, wait, we killed the terrorists, subjected their bodies to humiliating public degradations, and made it known that if it happened again, we were also going to take out their families. That stopped it until 1972. Hmmmm, go figure. We did not try to be politically correct in dealing with the terrorists and the terrorism stopped.
