I share the same experience. I don't think a lot of people are mature enough to address a real question because that requires them to think too much. They seem to be obsessed with points but there is no special prize and to be honest, I would want my answers (best of not) to reflect the deepest parts of my mind and feelings.

I have noticed the questions that tug on the heartstrings get a lot of answers.A lot of times it is easier to answer the silly ones then the others that require thought.

I went to your link and it looks like your question got plenty of anwers. Some people don't take this site as seriously as others, that woud be why you get wise crack answers for serious questions. maybe you need to look somewhere else for the serious discussions you seem to be looking for :)

I guess because people don't take everything seriously and they are just trying to be funny, and those people who are replying actually think they are "funny" they are childish, immature, and extremely bored. I would say......
