The best type of padding that you can buy is going to be a synthetic rubber pad. All carpet pad is rated by it's cubic weight i.e 6#, 8# (most common weights) the rubber pad you are looking for will be around 22#. It will also be treated with an enzyme that will eat mold, mildew and other spores and will also come with a lifetime warranty on it. Hope this helps

all the pad i have bought in the past 28 years for the houses we build r rated in lbs! 6 lbs rebond, 8 lbs rebond and so forth.....
different carpets require different pads per the manufacture.....

berber calls for berber pad....

if u install the wrong pad u can also void the warranty of the carpet .....its best to ask the person u bought the carpet from being that they will be the ones to warrant the carpet.....

You should buy the best carpet padding that the store sells. It's worth it in the long run and not that much more.
