no big daddy always had easy wins against giant haystacks.
both men had very unsuccessful lives both before and after their brief stardom as tv wrestlers (the essence of tv wrestling is to pretend that even dorks can succeed).
at the time of his early death mr. ruane was attempting to launch a comeback by wrestling hulk hogan. haystacks had finally found a wrestler who genuinely was inferior to him - both intellectually and as a sportsman (though both hogan and the giant were christian bigots).
but the hulk had a better manager.

Wearing a leotard and being called Shirley was nothing to do with it. Giant Haystacks real name was Rosemary Masters and he wore a leotard as well!

They used to all stay in the same hotels the night before.
Big Daddy was seen as the goody and Giant Haystacks as the baddie.
So Big Daddy won.
It is a bit like WWF that is all staged as well.

British Pro Wrestling is fab!!!!
I dont think Giant Haystacks beat Big Daddy.... Big Daddy won by countout (as far as I know).
I miss the British style.... Les Kellet, Steve Grey, Mick Mcmanus, Kendo Nakasaki, and Jacky Pallow......... the list goes on and on.
"Easy, easy......"

Yes, once. Shirley Crabtree was a coldstream guard before he was a wrestler. His brother, Brian was the referee and the promoter, a bit like Vince.

Once, but that was because Big Daddy retired with a broken wrist.

It was slapstick, staged and a complete and utter fix, the winner of those wrestling shows was decided before they even entered the ring.
