If you are interested, there is a DVD set called "The Beautiful Game". I believe it is a 6 disc set (I lent mine to a friend). This set has the complete history of football, from it's beginnings in ancient times, to the modern game run by FIFA.
This is definatley worth your time to find. I still see copies here at the malls in Canada. You may try ebay too!
