I work in the alternative medical industry, and believe me, the adverse side effects of practically ALL pharmaceutical based anti-depressants are of no use to ANYONE! You can try an alternative natural remedy, such as "Black Cohosh", which is sold just about everywhere, or simply ask an independent health food store, what they feel would be best. There are several "hi-tech" alternatives, such as electro-therapy, but these can be rather costly. They do work, very well, but again, they are NOT FDA-approved for use here in the United States, and most are beyond the reach of most private budgets. Try the far more economical "health food store" route, and you'll very likely find something that will help you to minimize, or even totally eliminate the emotional and neurological effects of PMDD. One final note, and that is, dehydration also plays a major role; Drink plenty of clean, fresh water, especially during the times when it is worst, plus you might want to check into a relatively cheap, but effective technology, called "negative ion therapy". N.I.T. has demonstrated remarkable results in behavioral therapy, and it's being used almost everywhere in the world, except, of course, here in the U.S., because it poses a competitive "threat" to the profits of the drug industry. You can buy negative ion generators on the internet, for very little money, but don't get "scammed" by hucksters trying to sell you useless and totally worthless "charms and bracelets" with the "negative ion" name applied to them. Get an AC line powered unit, from a reputable dealer, and I would be willing to bet money that this technology will help you, significantly. But if money is a barrier, then try the Black Cohosh or a similar "natural" remedy. Take care, and wishing you the best!

PMDD is listed as a "depressive disorder not otherwise specified"
It can be marked by a defined depressed mood lasting all day, nearly every day. You will see decresed interest in usual activities sometimes all activities. You will feel lathargic or suffer from a lack of energy. You may find that you can either sleep ALOT or not at all. That being said there are only 2 medications approved by the FDA for treatment of PMDD Zoloft and Prozac. There are a good number of psychologist and physicians that feel that PMDD is not a "real" disorder and that the drug companies use its vaque description to bring in the money.

saying you're afraid you won't be able to control your rage means that you ARE in fact in control, just afraid of losing control, and therein is the probable indication that you aren't sick.

you just get moody like a lot of women before their periods
