Mac,
I would say you need to be absolutely sure of your co-workers' characters: 100% kind and compassionate type, before you take such dangerious move.
Let get real, it is a competitive world, and we all want to move up the ladder, at the same time protect our current foothold. So, chances are there will be people looking at you as a threat. And why should you put your neck out to such risk.
Would it be better just employing your well-exposed work experiences to gain faster growth in your job? Think about it: something in life are better left unspoken: period.
Take care and GOD bless.

Do you feel the mighty has fallen? You were once a district mgr., that means that you have acquired skills, experiences and contacts as fitting in that position. Use those. Be proud of where you have been, where you are going and where you are right now. Take control of who you are. May God's hand be upon you.

This is called karma. Once, you were up there, and next thing you know, you can be down below. For your case, you're still lucky to have a good job while some people go from manager to zero, that is totally jobless. So count yourself lucky.
