I think Bush's ultimate goal is to take out Iran. Hezbollah is one of Iran's main military ally so if Israel can infiltrate Hezbollah and dismantle them, it will somewhat weaken Iran's military power and will be easier for Bush and his Admn. to go and launch another attack on another nation's sovereignty. I really belive Israel attacked Lebanon with the preapproval from Bush Admn. Otherwise Israel wouldn't dare to attack a country considering that they just elected a new President. And their ultimate goal (Isreal + Bush Admn) is to go after "Iran" and destroy it since Iran is the only country that can challenge Israel.

Lordvader and plumouttnd: Bush Admn. has everything to do with Isarel's attack on Hezbollah. If Bush keeps making mistakes, people will keep on blaming him.

While the Bush administration is no doubt okay with the conflict to stretch it into backing or making it happen is a bit far fetched.

Our military has it's hands full now so will not need to take on more. Sure if the final result were that the Iranian government were overthrown it would be very pleasing to the US but, at this point, not something to actively pursue.

Interesting theory. Only problem with trying to use other governments to further your plans is the unpredictability of it is to high.

You are idiotic! That is what I think.
Hezbollah attacked, killed, and kidnapped Israeli soldiers, violating the last cease-fire. They have been getting rockets and money from Iran and hiding behind civillians to attack Israel. Israel retaliated in the same way that they do when Palestine does something stupid. No more no less. The Bush administration had nothing to do with it.

It all goes back to the Soviets and the Chinese. They were the ones with the brilliant idea of arming most of the planet. They believed it was likely the U.S. would dominate and they planned ahead.
