Gomer Pyle was played by Jim Nabors. He first created that character on the Andy Griffin Show. Than went to The Gomer Pyle show.

Jim Nabors played Gomer Pyle. It began in 1962 and ran till 1969. It was a spin off of The Andy Griffith Show. It used to be shown on TBS at about 4:00a.m.,but now I think it has moved to TV Land.

the guy that played gomer was jim nabors. he started out on andy griffith as a mechanic. then later in the series, he went off to join the marines. this lead to his own show called Gomer Pyle USMC. hope this helps

I think the name of the show was Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., but I could be mistaken. Somehow I think it was an offshoot of the Andy Griffith show but I'm not 100% sure.
