In texas we'd call that being a dumbass- however it isn't against the law (penal code) here, it does vary from state to state I'm betting, not to mention various ordinances ..

Just know this - if you were to flip me off (or any other cop), I'd follow you for a few blocks, and in that short time you'd inadvertently cross the center line or not come to a complete stop, or forget to use your blinker, or your tags are expired, or you have a brake light out or you have a plate missing, or you have a cracked windshield, or you're not wearing your seatbelt or you're ...well - you get the picture.

what satisfaction would that give you really..I mean, are you in fact a third grader?

Depends where you are as to the legallity. Some cities have laws against obcesene gestures. In those places it would be illegal. Short of that it is legal, but kinda stupid as they will remember you and look for something to get you on.

Im not sure. I would say though it might be illegal because you can't mouth off a police officer, but at the same time you have a pretty strong consitutional right when it comes to swearing. This site may help:

flow ahead, danger it. See what takes position. likely, they'll end you, per chance arrest you for "public disturbance." you could "by danger" get some bruises or scuffs, if the officer is decent, or a blow from his stick if not. think ofyou've got a civil case if this happens and probably get a touch money out of it, yet except the officer bodily damage you, it isn't likely they'd be disciplined. anybody knows appreciate of authority is something this united states of america regrettably lacks. in my opinion, your "inconvenience" if stopped, detained, or perhaps arrested is wisely deserved (except you bodily withstand arrest, then abuse isn't deserved).

LOl, I don't know the legality( but I'm sure it's illegal in some way) My friend flipped a cop off once, and he pulled us over and told my friend " If you ever do that again, I will break your fuc@#*% finger off!!!"

But he didn't give him a ticket or anything....

Certainly lawful, as protected free speech. Of course, cops in the US are more than likely going to think you're pointing a gun, so it'd be better if you're not allergic to bullets if you try this.

It's legal- it falls under the First Amendment of free speech. BUT I wouldn't suggest doing it, because it will only make things worse for you.

Laws differ from state to state, and it even depends on the officer. You pretty much have to flip them off to find out. Do it. Now.

Just like you don't want to perturb your waitperson or food server, why take a tiger by it's tail?
If there is no reason for provocation, keep your fingers to yourself.
