It seems like day workers have no consideration of those of us who work at night or work late. I sometimes work till midnight and get to bed about 1 and would like to get a good nights sleep but am awaken at 7 or 8 in the morning by loud music and car horns.

Why do people think that if a person who works late sleeps until 9 or 10 in the morning, that they are lazy or weird when it really is no different than them being asleep at 11 pm or midnight. I don't think they are lazy if they are in bed at 3 am so why do they think it is weird that I might be in bed at 9 am when I didn't go to bed till 1 or 2 am?
I don't want anyone callling me at 9 in the morning or knocking on my door but it seems that people just don't think about those who sleep different hours than them.

I used to work a couple of third shifts to get overtime. One of my co-workers was a regular third shift employee. It was really funny, because she would sit there and call everyone who called her while SHE was sleeping during the day. She never had anything important, she just called them to chat!

Maybe they don't know that you are working so late and so wonder why you are still in bed till late in the morning. I don't think there is anything wrong in wanting to sleep in later in the morning. Besides, some people are a morning person and some aren't. Also, daytime working hours are probably seen as more desirable for some...

I know!! What really gets me is most towns have this law that your garbage bins have to be up by 7P.M., or else, you are ticketed, and fined!! Some people work night shifts, and that's just unfair. I got that all the time when I was working at night. Really upset me.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. The thing is they may not understand. Try giving them a dose of their own medicine. On your way home from work try showing them the same courtesy they show you. Beware it may turn into a game though. Lots of luck getting your zzzz's

I agree that folks could, and probably should be considerate. To answer the question, because they only think of themselves. Not entirely, but if they're annoying then they're thinking of themselves.

I bet they don't know you work at night. Also, noise laws don't cover the times you mentioned.
