sheltons momma is a stand up comedian in real life. after wwe finished punishing shelton (which is what it was), she returned to her usual job.

The woman who played Shelton Benjamin's Mom is the comedian named Thea. If you do a search on the internet for her, you will be able to find her as she's done alot of things in her life. She even had her own sitcom called "Thea".
She was originally hired to be the WWE version of the Mother of football player and his Mom who did the soup commercials on TV.
She was only contracted for about three (3) months. WWE decided to do away with the storyline, so they wrote a storyline for her that she couldn't breath, went into the hospital, etc., and supposedly this is where she still is, although there are no current plans to bring her back. Of course, should things change, they (the writers) will bring her back by saying that she's well again now.
