Now, I just did a nasty rant on Southern California, but I have to say there are some beautiful hotels here. A few years ago, I treated myself to a stay at the beautiful Del Coronado Hotel, on Coronado island near San Diego. The Hotel Del, as it is called, is a gorgeous place, with it's own beach, lush gardens, and a beautiful old building.

I've also stayed at the Drake in San Francisco, and a couple of expensive hotels in New York, but the Hotel Del was a memorable, once (or twice) in a lifetime experience, and worth every penny.

Bahia Resort Hotel -

Located less than five minutes from Sea World, the Bahia is convenient to all of San Diego's major attractions including the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Belmont Park, Old Town, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and just a short walk to the Ocean. Close to shopping in downtown, Mission Valley or La Jolla. Mexico is just 30 minutes to the south. We are easily accessible from the San Diego International Airport. Fulfill your getaway dreams - experience the Bahia Hotel.

The Ritz-Carlton or maybe The Four Seasons. These are one of the top hotels in the world. And most expensive. But definitely worth it.

Auberge du Soleil in Napa, California. It is a beautiful resort, but the nightly rate is far and above what it is really worth.

Probably the Marriot at Lionshead in Vail. It was worth it. Great location, nice room.

I once drove my Mclaren F1 to the Hilton in New York. And then I cruised to the Ritz Carlton in my Lamborghini Gallordo roadster! Aren't you jealous? I would be if I were you, I am RICH!

Some resort in Palm Springs, don't remember the name, about $500 a night. It was cool, but I would never pay that (my husband did).
