You can't.........On your year of car, the transmission is controlled by computer. It has a wiring harness that plugs into the transmission which has all the wiring for shifting, temp sensor and Torque converter clutch. If you did disconnect this plug, your transmission will not function properly. Don't be fooled by anyone who tells you to just unplug the connector. That works ONLY on the 3 speed transmissions (TH125C). Unfortunatly, the only way to fix it is to have a transmission specialist repair it for you. It could be something as simple as a bad/broken wire, poor connection at the connector, or an internal problem with the solenoid and/or hydraulics.

the switch part its self is located in the transmission,,but the wire you need to disconnect is on top of the transmission ,,look for the wire harness that runs into the transmission,,its a 4 wire harness,,if you have a v-6 engine it may be hidden a little bit on you,,it will be a little towards the front,,if your unsure take it to a shop,,and let them un hook it for you,,good luck with it.

There isn't a torque switch. Do you mean your torque converter clutch solonoid? Does your car have a 4T60E transmission in it with a TCC code in the computer?

I expect that it is Dan. vDavidson - pop the hood and tell us what the engine says. I expect it's going to say "3100", but it may say "3.8". Let us know.
(If it says "3100" then you have the model called a 4T60E transmission. FYI, the "4" is the number of speeds, and the "E" I believe stands for 'electronic', because when the car shifts (which RPM) is computer controlled, rather then by a moving part.)
