i have a pc game called 'alice in wonderland' - or something like that - and it freaks me out... seriously! it has nothing to do with the original story. it's about alice and her cat accidently pushes an oil lamp and it burns her house - her parents die so she is now an orphelin. then, 'wonderland' is terrorized by all these freaky monsters and everything has changed.... it's a great game and story but everything scares me!!! though it was funny at first to see a disney caracter with a bloody apron and a knife in her hand!

Off the top of my head, The X-Files: Resist or Serve had some good jumpy moments, and the Dino Crisis games when I was younger. I'm pretty sure there were others, if only for a moment.
Oh, and Shivers for the pc was creepy as hell.

Condemned - xbox 360. Play it in the dark late at night, alone.
If you haven't heard of it its about a crime scene investigator who gets caught up trying to track down a handful of serial killers. The graphics are amazing. And the weapons are pretty sweet. Check it out!

The suffering would be first on my list, with haunting ground a close second.
