We like to put ourselves in the shoes of the challenge while sitting on the sofa. Survival in the wilds is intriguing. It requires knowledge of people and habitat. It shows how people strati-size to dominate over others. Human survival is a vivid reminder that selection does not favor the most intelligent or the most physically fit. The survival program contains two parts that catch our interest most; first is problem solving with limited resources, and the other is viewing human behavior when times are tough. The game forces people to shift strategies and rearrange their living priorities. There is a logical side of the game and spiritual side that holds our interest.
The best part of the survival series is the realness, the raw environment and the interaction of people bringing their life skills to the challenge.
At first the game is all about greed and domination. There are only two winners, so the formation of alliances quickly takes the interest of the competitors. Those people not sworn to an alliance become outcasts and are voted out early.
There is also the the audiences need to discover a personality in the group. We are watching to cheer on our favorites and hope for the villains to be voted off. We are watching for the popularity of the contestants from within the groups. It's a little like going to a horse race and picking a horse. We want our favorites to win.
When contestants get voted off, we want to learn what human conditions brought on the results.
Survivor is a facinating study of human behavior.

it Is? I admit (shamefully) that I watched survivor the first 2 seasons. I was terribly disappointed. Here is a REAL survivor show : You put the group of people on a deserted island and only the camera crew remains. No silly contests like standing on a pole to outlast someone or running an obstacle course or putting puzzles together. Everyone is on their own. Find your own food, make your own shelter, etc. Work individually. A La Robinson Crusoe. Survival of the fittest. Last person standing wins. Give each person a cell phone and a one call allowance. If they have had enough and no longer want to participate, that phone call is their sign of submission and they are picked up by helicopter and whisked away. This is what I thought this flub a dub current survivor show was going to be like.

I love Survivor. I'm a reality TV junkie. I'm watching Big Brother now. I like trying to out guess who is going to backdoor who to get further in the game. There are alot of us watching or it still wouldn't be on.

That is a great question, a lot of TV shows suck DOWN WITH REALITY SHOWS!!!.. it's like every producer is having a brain fart.

wow i have no idea, the first couple times it was on people watched it. NOBODY watches it anymore. it is a terrible show. Basically all it is, is people sitting around hating each other. Take it off the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!
