Is there a paint technique to make wood look like brushed metal? Like a brushed steel or nickel look. I have wooden knobs and pulls that i want to paint to look like a brushed metal. i can't afford to buy actual brushed metal knobs and pulls so need to find a way to make wood look like that.
Also i already have metal fan blades that are painted bright yellow, i want them to be the same effect of the brushed metal look is there a technique to do this look or a product that i can use to give everything that effect?
It might be called brushed chrome. Also i want this a dull finsih not glossy or shiny. Thanks.
Note: Yes i asked this before but only got one answer and was not really what i was looking for, so hoping by asking again will get some other ideas. Thanks in advance.

Also...you can get small tubes of "metallic" looking paint at walmart in gold or silver. (Cheap too) What I would do is put a couple coats of paint on the knobs, let dry and VERY lightly sand off some of the paint to give it a brushed or aged look.

The wood has to be super smooth. Sand with fine grain paper.
Buy spray paint FLAT silver thats the best youll get without raising the price to real brushed metal.

You could use a metallic paint like Hammerite, but it is more a "hammered" look than "brushed".

If you dont want to have pay a faux painter to do it. You will need to google " faux painting" and see what methods you could adapt to your large project.

Try using silver leaf from the craft store, it is metal and all you do is apply it according to the directions and seal.
