because sometimes you get good stuff for free.
what kind of "free" are you talking about? financially free?
logically free?
emotionally free?
for example, you don't have to pay for true love, but you have to give some of your love away too.

Ah, the old "free lunch" syndrome.
I'm afraid that we parents may be partially to blame for this. Each generation wants to give their children more than we had. Unfortunately, this almost always backfires. Children, during their most formative years come to expect instant gratification of their wants and needs.
The old concept of doing your chores, getting an allowance, saving up, and buying what one has their heart set on is, for the most part, only a memory of childhoods gone by.
There is a significant drop in the youths appreciation of the "value" of money. They are accustomed to mom and dad just providing for them.
I don't think we have done our children any favors by making things so easy for them. When my husband passed away, and there was a massive drop in the family income, it was a real eye-opener for my kids. But, I really think they are better people now because of it.
The sooner we realize that there are no free lunches and learn to earn what we get, the better people we become.

I can understand exactly what you mean. My father ( bless his soul) use to say " There is no such thing as a free lunch, someone has to pay for it all some how"
with my work as a psychic medium I give alot of my work away for free. but get hundreds of email each day from people who work hard explaining to me how I should do their reading for free because what I can do is a gift from god. I explain to them that it isnt a gift from god because that would me since I have this ability that he favored me over them and that it is in fact an ability. they always resend an email back saying " when do I get my free reading"
Then they get upset when i explain to them that my rates are very low and they are paying for my time. and I ask them do you work for free? Does your dr, lawyer, car repairmen... why should I.
I don't mind giving back and doing free readings But some peoplke can be very annoying about getting one.

becuz u want sumthing easy to get..
paying means u need to collect money first before u can buy anything,
collecting money means u have to try to get it, whether it's by working or asking sum1's money..
and trying, especially working is hard to do or ppl juz lazy to do it
so yes...
ppl always expect sumthing for free,
don't u ??!! :)
