You can try this stuff called KaBoom, I've used it before and it works really well on things like that. It's from the same company that makes orange glo and oxiclean. It's all natural, biodegradable and won't produce toxic fumes or burns. Check out their site here http://www.oxicleanpro.com/kaboom.html or see if you can just pick some up at the store.

I think Kaboom is a little strong for nickel plated things. I would just use water and windex. That should work without streaking.
