Absolutely. Married or divorced or a guy you knew for 10 minutes, doesn't matter. Every man has to legally pay child support. If he's being neglectful, seek a lawyer.

Yes. If you have already filed the divorce then your attorney can request an emergeny hearing to establish support if the other parent is refusing to help. If you and the stbx are on speaking terms ask him to pay a set amount and explain that if he doesn't it can be oredered that he pay back support from the time of seperation. My ex had his attorney calculate what he thought the judge would order as far as support and they agreed to pay that amount without having to go into court, but if he is being uncooperative then the court will have to order it.

Hmmm..now lets see...Child support...I am thinking that means to help support a child...duhhhh!! Do you think children need different types of support depending on whether you are in legal separation or actually divorced. People need to quit thinking so much about themselves and put the children and their needs first.

If two people make children, then both parents, adults or so on need to do their part in taking care of the child(ren)
Both parties help creat the kid or kids, then they both need to put up money to give the kid or kids what they need to survive.
You need to talk to a lawyer, or if you are on assistance then you need to ask them what the next move is.
