I'm not talking about just being cool and smart at the same time. I'm talking about the extremes of each spectrum.

There are tons of college geeks who think they're cool, but they're really not all that cool, so they definately aren't "ultimate cool."

There are different styles of ultimate coolness, but I think that probably in the US, at this time, the most recognizable "ultimate cool" is exhibited by certain rappers. There are many corny rappers, even though to the untrained, college, white-person eye, this often goes undetected or unrecognized.

So, for this purpose, let's take the hard, gangsta, thug image as being the ultimate, most recognized form of coolness. And let's remember, not just some dude who dresses up to look like this, but one who really IS this.

And they must excel in those subjects, not just be in such a class and barely pass it.

So, is it humanly possible for a person to be at both extreme ends of the spectrum and be truely a cool and smart person?

For example, someone who is a successful college chemistry professor, but who has 6 baby mamas and used to sell drugs when he was younger in order to survive.

I, personally, have never seen anyone like that.

The coolest thing about being "cool" is you don't ever think about it. I have met some people who I consider "cool" based upon my own opinion. Most of them I would also consider smart. They are who they are and for the most part are very self-confident without being stuck up.

First off, love the fro. Second, I think there are a few people at every school who can cross the lines and be good at everything. It's rare, but it happens.

It is my belief, you can be cool and smart at the same time, we all have our own perception of the two and keep my preferences in mind, when I participate in socializing. Thanks for asking.
