I was diagnosed with cysts on my ovaries 2 weeks before I got pregnant. I am now 16 weeks and curious if this will effect my baby at all. I have told my OB about it, but she didn't say anything. I don't see why it would effect the baby, but do the cysts tend to stay there until you get them removed? Should I go ahead and have a cecerian and have them fixed after having the baby? What do you reccomend? I have tried to look this up online, but with no success. Thanks!

Cysts on the ovaries should not affect your pregnancy. The pregnancy, however, might affect the cysts because of the hormonal changes of pregnancy.

Cysts on the ovary are not an indication for a Cesarean delivery. If you needed a Cesarean for obstetric reasons, and the cysts were something that would require surgical intervention in the future, your OB may choose to deal with them when they are right there in front of him/her.

You need to discuss this with your OB. You will be having a lot of OB appointments, and you need to ask and insist that your questions be answered.

Whether or not you have them removed depends on a lot of things. If the cysts are benign and not causing any problems for you, it might be best to leave them alone.

It wont effect the baby. usually you can take a medication after that desolves them. But in most cases the cysts are naturally absorbed by your body. In some cases they have to surgically remove them, but its a non invasive surgery and not worth it to have a cesarian just for it.

Iam not an OB but the cysts run in my family...

Also, you need to get a new OB. You're paying that woman for a service, and she is NOT providing it to you. Go find someone else.

I had an early ultrasound (6.5 weeks) with my first baby, and they saw a corpus luteum cyst in my left fallopian tube. It eventually ruptured and dissolved and was absorbed into my body. They're very common during early pregnanct. Is this what you have? Are they still there? Best to ask your ob/gyn.

Your OB should be able to recommend you what to do. If you don't trust your OB or need a second opinion, just get it, but without more information it is impossible to tell.

You need to talk to your OB doctor as you will not find one online. Talk to her till you get an answer.
