Not really. Depends on what you want

Boyfriends and girlfriends are not necessary or required to make it to adulthood. It's nice to have someone, but you need security and love from within before girlfriends and boyfriends compliment you. Make sure you don't look to complete yourself by having a girlfriend. at seventeen, do you want college and career? I, at 30, have the family and am trying to go to college and work full time. something usually snaps and let me tell you it affects all. If you're interrrested in collge, go first then start a family. You will be much more capable of finding a decent job to provide for them. If you find a girlfriend along the way, love her and treat her well, but also let her know your goals in life and what it's going to take for you to get there. She can either be there to support you, or she may not have been meant to be. a true love will be there to cheer you on through the good and the bad times. This is the recipe for happiness. Find it from within first.

A girl friend is only necessary when you feel you found a nice person. You can be 14 but you can be 24. Dont need to date someone because your friends do so or because you think that's the way it should be. Just do it when it seems right. No hurry, we have a lony way ahead and russing never served good.

A girlfriend is definately not necessary at 17 - you have too much life to live. Why strap yourself down? Group date or date casually as you find out what you really want in the special lady you will ultimately spend time with. In the long run you'll be much happier.

It all depends on you dude. You have to ask yourself few questions

1)Can you manage a girl friend at this age and continue doing good in your education

2)What kind of responsibilities you are ready to take .

3)Do you think you are mature enough to handle all this. Its different world out in US (most of the time we try yo copy them), children are groomed differently here.

She's probably more trouble than not. Focus on your studies (if you're in school) . You have lot's of time to get a girlfriend in the future. All the best :)

A girlfriend is not a thing, it is a person! It must be someone you like and you would spend time with her.

It's not neccesary. If you find the right girl, then great.
But if you don't you still have plenty of time. So just live your life.
