Use a penetrating foaming cleanser that you spray on and leave on to get down in the texture, then mop it up after 30 minutes or so. Or get on your hands and klnees with a stiff brush and scrub it out.

Get some Super Clean! It works great. My floors always looked filthy after I mopped and even though I had just mopped I could still wipe up dirt and grime that was in the textures of the lineolium. I mopped the floors with a 50 50 solution of hot water and super clean and my floors have never looked cleaner! I'll warn you though... use rubber gloves cause it will dry your hands out so bad! And you'll want to put a coat of wax such as mop & glo on after you mop to shine it up. Works like a charm Im serious!!!

Im am in the same situation. I do the once a month scrub cleaning. But I also change but solution to clean. One day will use pine sol or fabuloso. next day I will use the clorox spray, but the one I use that will certainly add shine to is vinegar. Even if its just water n vinegar. It works for your windows too. Make sure your mop is extremely clean. I have two mops one for the bathroom where i just use bleach and other harsh cleaners n the other one to mop. Whenever regular mopping use a lot of water too, it will go inside and maintain them clean after your hevy duty cleaning day. Its a lot of work but thats how tile is. Make sure you do not leave the floor wet, dry it all the way with the mop. It will leave streaks. Whenever you are mopping make sure you try to mop as evenly as possible.

I had kitchen tiles in my last home like that. The mop would clean the higher surfaces, but not in the lower ones -- in the "pits" like I called them.

The only way I was able to clean the surface effectively was to use a handheld bristle brush that you can buy in the broom and mop section of any store. I got on my hands and knees about once a month and cleaned the floor that way, and then mopped normally for the rest of the month.

It's not the best thing to look forward to every month, but you'll be happy with the results when you finish.

A bucket of hot water, soft scrub (or baking soda) and a brush. Lightly scrub the textured area and rinse with a mop or better yet use a clean rag. It will work. been there, done that and it';s inexpensive.
