Cuban President Fidel Castro had abdominal surgery a couple of weeks ago. He handed over the powers of the President to his brother, Raul Castro.
Cuba is pretty secretive, so it's hard to get all of the facts, but recent photos of Fidel Castro show him in a hospital, looking like you'd expect an 80 year old to look after surgery.
Recently, he has released statements that lead people in other countries to believe that he may not try to regain the Presidency of Cuba again.
