They're among my favourite characters (and an excellent pairing to boot), and I was just wondering if anyone felt they should be together someday. Or that Mr Burns should know how Smithers feels. Or should Smithers just snap out of it and find someone else?

I think Mr. Burns should fall unconcience while crossing the street with Smithers. Smithers attempts so give CPR, but the last scene they show a large van bearing down on both of them. The screen goes black, then it shows them both with wings going to Heaven. Only Mr. Burns' devil horns pop out and his wings fall off. Greed you know.

Smithers should realize how evil Mr. Burns is and try to find someone who appreciates all the hard work he does.

Well Burns is straight. But I think if he realized Smither's feelings he would turn right, they'd make such a cute couple.

Yeah, I think it would be pretty stupid if the Simpson's did that. Burns being gay and Smithers being in a relationship where he can be comfortable would change their characters so much that essentially, they wouldn't be them anymore.

no.. i dont think they will get together, mr burns is straight.. and that would be like saying one can change their sexuality, like smithers can all of a sudden like women.. no .. cant happen and i hope it doesnt..
