Yes, I think that's perfectly normal. No matter how close we are with our friends and no matter how we love them and support their decisions, sometimes if life seems too good for them, a little jealousy will happen.
However, I don't think it's a negative feeling. It brings out a slight competition in the friendship. Who knows, you might even try to improve yourself to match up to ypur friend.

In German, there's even a specific word for that feeling . It's called schadenfreude. So yeah, it's normal.
Acknowledge that you have those feelings but ask yourself if it's enough to make you give up the friendship. Maybe, once you accept that some people are better at some things than you are, it stops bothering you.
Or maybe if you realize that your friend isn't "being better" on purpose to spite you, then that might help too.
I think it's partly because a lot of us are so competitive that everything turns into a contest even if we're the only ones playing.

omg my best friend is smarter than me and stuff like that and i get jealous but then i relax and think about it and say, i do my best and i cant ruin our friendship and there always is a possibility that someone out there is better than you. just think about that and how you wouldnt want to lose a close friend, and it should help a lot. well it does for me so now i dont even get jealous. hope it all works for you<3

Normal is not the right term. We are humans with faults and one of them is envy. If we feel envy, it is nothing wrong as feelings have no morality. It is what we do afterwards that may be wrong. We have to correct ourselves. An act of humility helps... accepting the fact that we are not perfect and that we should not resent that others are indeed better than us.

let it go. realize that there's really no such thing as "better" or "worse". it's just a human label, with no intrinsic value. nothing is beautiful, and nothing is ugly. nothing is good, and nothing is bad. everything is part of a natural order, and has it's normal and functional place in the universe. you are exactly who you are supposed to be.
