my school has restrictions on everything (bags, clothes, hairbands) appart from pencil cases...what can I do to a black pencil case to make it unique and totally different from anything anyone else will have...???

I'm not sure if your pencil case is fabric or hard plastic. Anyway, here are some links.

OK, this one's not black, but I thought it was a neat idea. Maybe you could use fluffy fabric of another color and glue a shape (or shapes) on your black bag?

You can personalise it with whatever you like!
For instance, I dig military stuff and band "emblems" so I will get them from this small store near my place and I'd sew them on the pencil case.
Or, if you are more into the pretty stuff, get those thin metal chains that allows you to hang charms on them. Attach and sew one "chani link/hole" onto the pencil case and create a wave pattern.

Morf it into a papoose carrier, or arrow quiver to carry Mohawk pencils in the native american tradition!
