Generally speaking, compulsive behavior... more precisely thought pattering, is caused by a fear of being wrong... or of not being "enough". The two sources for this would be a misperception taken on by ones MIND at or near birth, that one is not enough, and thus, ones MIND developes habit patterns that are aimed at presenting one as "enough" by attempting to never be found as being wrong.

The "cure" for this is to focus on the reality that one is what one is, and this is perfect for what one needs to experience in this life. But, it helps if one can move beyond just "thinking" this as an abstract concept, and begin to embrace it as the overriding reality of ones life.... because it is the only reality operating in each of our lives. We are what we are because what we are serves to provide us the experiences we need to experience in this life.

Let go of the little "drivers" that cause us to imagine that we need to be this or do that to be OK. One is OK all the time... if one is able to accept this reality.

It's called OCD (obessive complsive disease) I can bet money that your have more in your life that you are always trying to control. Not only your Tennis game. This is how an OCD needs/reacts to control his environment, surroundings ect... If it really bothers you and gets in the way of having a healthy relationship with yourself or others then it is time to seek professional help.

Guy, you have to relax. I am not into game, but I know that relax is the best way to do things that you are doing well.
When a person to concentrate on wanting to be perfect the problem is that he tends to make more mistakes.
So, you are not psycolgic, you just need to Relax.
Have fun, practice makes perfect

Well, I am pretty obsessed with perfection myself. I can tell you that if it gets too bad, you may be facing obsessive-compulsive disorder. In most of us though, it is a side-effect of an outcome-based stressful society. Good luck and don't be afraid to call on a respected therapist to check this out.

You're doomed if you stay that way. You kept focus on the grip, you lost sight of the ball. Final score: You - LOVE. The opponent- SET, GAME and MATCH.
